Habits - Introduction

Almost a year ago, we unleashed a unique tool with no idea how perfect the timing would be. God knew when we created our Discipleship Culture Guidebook that it would assist our church and our Lifegroups as we headed into those shaky first days of the shelter-in-place orders. When we say that we depend on God to grow disciples deep and wide for His glory – this is how we do it. Through 12 practicable habits, we desire to receive more life, grow in more life, and give more life as disciples of Jesus.

The church should be one of the most adventurous places on earth.
- Alan Hirsch

Justin and our team quickly scrapped the sermon series and launched into a series on the Habits of Discipleship Culture assuming the 12 habits would more than cover the duration of the county’s orders. 11 months later, we’re still using this tool as we take advantage of this ongoing opportunity to make disciples during a challenging time.

As a refresh on these Habits, we’re taking a deeper look at our favorite parts of the Discipleship Culture Guidebook, highlighting quotes and passages and lessons that we’re gleaning from this resource. We hope it encourages and equips you to build deeper disciples even wider as we share the gospel and our lives with one another.

Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God.
- William Carey

Here’s that very first message from Justin as we began this journey. It’s wild to watch and listen to the way we talked about the virus 11 months ago, and encouraging to see how we have adapted and grown and continued to be God’s Church.

Here is the full Intro to the Guidebook to flip through, too:

We also want you to have access to the whole Guidebook if you don’t already, so below is a link to download it. We have a physical Guidebook for you too, so you can scribble down your thoughts and prayers and dive into the resource in a Lifegroup! Just email Alayne and we will get you a copy!
