Update: Foster the Bay Social Worker Luncheon
As part of our effort to serve the city by loving orphans, I asked our Life Groups to donate a case of water and 3 packs of bread rolls for a Foster the Bay event on Wednesday, October 23rd to appreciate Santa Clara County social workers. I want to report the event was a resounding success. Thank you for all your generous donations!
The “Souper” Social Workers event was a hit! We served between 250 and 300 soup lunches, desserts, and beverages. This year has been particularly rough for the social workers in Santa Clara as the Department of Children and Family Services made recent changes that have impacted their jobs. This was a great opportunity to extend the hand of Jesus to the people who work with vulnerable children and families every day. We had enough rolls to feed not only the social workers in Santa Clara, but in Gilroy as well. All the leftover water and bread rolls were donated to Sacred Heart Food Pantry (SHFP). SHFP provides groceries and clothing to the unhoused population in San Jose. Thank you for showing up in a big way!
