Get to Know a Garden City Member: Lawrence & Alayne Tadlock

Hi Garden City, we’re Lawrence and Alayne Tadlock! And we are so happy to be apart of Garden City Church! 

We came to Garden City in 2017 with a mix of past residences in our background. Lawrence, who was raised in Alabama and traveled all over the country for work, came to northern Minnesota in 2015 and met me, Minnesota born-and-bred Alayne. Striking up a quick relationship, we spent our first summer together enjoying the shores of Lake Superior in anyway way we could! Rock climbing, swimming, hiking, or leisurely walks on the Lake Walk. Lake Superior is a beautiful piece of God’s creation, and it is the one thing we miss most about Duluth. After we married in 2016, we followed Lawrence's work to Reno, NV, and eventually to the Bay Area in 2017. 

Having been an active part of Acts 29's Rock Hill Community Church in Duluth, MN, we were eager to get plugged in to Garden City; and since arriving in the Bay Area we have been members of the Pursell Life Group. Some of the best memories so far have included celebrating New Year's with “Bad” Movie Nights, Halloween Trivia Games, and Charcuterie Potlucks! We’ve also enjoyed many trips to explore the West. We’ve been to every California National Park, and hope to explore God’s creation even more. 

When not at work or hanging out with our Life Group you can often find us at Planet Granite in Sunnyvale. We both love to rock climb and we frequent the gym several times a week, when we can't get outside. In fact, we met while rock climbing, so it's always been an important way for us to spend time together.

Our God-sized prayer is always guidance and providence. Like many, we came to the Bay Area intending to leave in a few years. But we’ve loved every minute of living here and being apart of Garden City Church. We pray for guidance for our future and providence to live where God calls us, all the while working for the Kingdom in faithfulness wherever we are at.
