Get to Know a Garden City Member: The Hampsons

Hello! We’re Marshall, Emily, and Chase Hampson and we’ve been attending Garden City for 7 years now (well, Chase for only 7 months). Fun fact: we met at life group and as the story clearly goes, we ended up getting married. Yes, it was a very high risk, high reward situation. So…forever shout-out to Garden City!

The fascinating part about all of this is that we grew up 20 minutes from each other in Roseville and Auburn, CA. Roseville and Auburn are every Bay Area skiers’ dream since we’re about an hour away from North Lake Tahoe.

You can usually find us at Voyager (or really any coffee shop in the area), Orchard City Kitchen (shout-out Bach) or a hidden gem: Ludwig’s downtown for authentic German food. We both love to travel and we were smart/dumb enough to bring Chase to the U.K. at 3 months old. Emily loves baking cookies, quoting Friends and shopping in the Target dollar section. Marshall enjoys college football (sic’ em!), the Olympics, skiing and music. Chase loves milk.

A little about what we do: Marshall works at Study.com as the Public Relations Manager, and Emily works for San Jose Unified School District as a Special Education Instructional Coach.

We’ve been deacons for about 3 years now and have been enjoying our transition of caring for Chase while still being active in the church. Both of us have met so many incredible people in our church – some of which we will call very close, lifelong friends. Garden City has grown in more ways than we could imagine, but being surrounded by people we love and love us has stayed the same.

During this transition time, we’re asking God to not only allow us to enjoy this life stage of being a new family but also asking God to lead us as deacons as we serve our church family. We love serving whether it’s through kids or worship ministry and we’re excited for our church and the Garden City family of churches to grow for God’s glory.

We would love to meet you if we haven’t already (Chase would too, but he can’t hold a conversation just yet).
