Sunday's Setlist 11/17/19
Hey Church!
Last week passed the 2 month anniversary of the release of our EP. Give it a spin this weekend and thank God for what He’s done and is doing!
This weekend we get to the back half of Daniel 6 and encounter Daniel and the lion’s den! And we have a delightful horn section accompanying us for our time of singing together. I’m excited to actually do Psalm 98:6: Psalm 98:6 “With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD!”
Check out the songs we’ll be singing together on Sunday!
Defender - This is another song birthed from Psalm 18; a song about a delivering God who rescues His own from His (and our) enemies. You can put your trust and hope in one who the psalmist says, “the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations also of the mountains trembled and quaked because he was angry.”
Excited to sing this with you this weekend.!Man of War - You can learn more about this song from the song story we wrote up earlier. Who is this King of Glory, strong and mighty? He is the LORD!
We Give You Glory - We wrote this tune from Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus. In the song, we have a line, “…His saints revealing to the heavens that His glory never ends!” That was taken from Ephesians 3:10: “so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.” Paul is instructing the church that the way God is revealing His glory to the heavens is through His Church. Incredible. When we glorify God, it’s not just an audience of one. Our worship of God is on display for the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places to recognize that He is Lord and is reigning. I want to join in that song!
O My Soul, Arise - One of my faves. Written by Charles Wesley with a chorus added by Sovereign Grace (here’s the Russian translation, if you needed it). It’s a beautiful tune that we sing in the presence of God, to our own souls, about God. It paints the very picture of Christ as our perfect High Priest and Sacrifice. In it, it talks of the, “Five bleeding wounds he bears, received on Calvary. They pour effectual prayers, They strongly plead for me. ‘Forgive him, O forgive!’ they cry.” This points to how the mortal wounds (2 hands, 2 feet, side) of our High Priest/Sacrifice themselves speak for our forgiveness. Wow. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Nothing But the Blood - This is a tune of celebration and we shall celebrate. Stretch out. Be ready to dance! No other fount I know! Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
